These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Jair Ortega ("we," "us," or "our"), an individual, the operator of A-MAJ at https://a-maj.com and the A-MAJ iPhone app. By using A-MAJ, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13 years old to use A-MAJ and be able to agree to these Terms where you live. We do not collect a date of birth today.
A-MAJ is a skill-based entertainment product for rated American Mahjong (American Mah Jongg-style play on an original seasonal card). Features may include bot and online play, learn / assist surfaces, rated matches, leaderboards and ratings, cosmetics and season tracks, and Charleston Club when offered.
The product is the native iOS app (TestFlight and App Store builds) using our live backend. The website at a-maj.com may provide marketing, account, and legal information. Playable web is parked / coming soon and is not the playable game under these Terms.
No real-money wagering. No cash prizes. Coins and Gems are virtual gameplay balances only. They are not money, property, stored value, securities, or legal tender. They cannot be cashed out, sold outside authorized in-app purchase flows, transferred between players for real-world value, or exchanged for anything of real-world value outside the game.
You need an authenticated account to play. Available sign-in methods:
Facebook and X are not offered. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in methods secure. Contact support@a-maj.com if you believe your account was compromised.
Use an appropriate username / display handle. We may sanitize or reject handles that are abusive, misleading, infringing, or unsafe. We may restrict or ban accounts for violations.
Coins and Gems are virtual entertainment balances.
We may tune, reset, discontinue, or correct virtual balances and entitlements to repair errors, abuse, or product changes.
Charleston Club is optional looks / season access, not a wagering product. It is not a wager and does not unlock real-money features.
Shop spend may be Club-gated when that rule is live: browsing or buying certain shop items may require an active Club membership. Learn stays free.
Avatar stages and path progress are earned, not sold. Cosmetics and virtual items you already own remain yours to equip in the product even if your Club membership ends or you never buy Club again, unless we remove an item for safety, legal, or integrity reasons. Ending Club does not cash out Coins, Gems, or cosmetics.
When Club is offered, Gems tied to Club are earned through the Club season track (and related in-product drips) as the product implements them. Club purchase or annual renewal does not dump a one-time Gem grant on day one or at rollover unless we change the product and update these Terms.
City badges, when offered, are shop cosmetics only and are not GPS or location collection. We do not use location for language selection; language preference is chosen in-app.
You agree not to:
A-MAJ does not currently include player chat or tournaments. Report-a-player flows may exist; review is manual.
Software may contain errors, change, or be unavailable. Online rooms may end or void during a deploy or incident. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security, or operational reasons.
The software, visual design, original cards, text, and other content we provide are owned by us or used under license. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use A-MAJ for entertainment under these Terms. Intellectual-property concerns: support@a-maj.com.
A-MAJ is not an official tournament authority and is not affiliated with or endorsed by a third-party mahjong league unless we state otherwise.
If you send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the service without payment or obligation to you. Do not send confidential information as feedback. We do not claim marketing campaigns in these Terms.
You may delete your account in Settings → Delete account or by contacting support@a-maj.com. Deletion follows the Privacy Policy. Virtual balances and entitlements are lost when an account is deleted and cannot be restored through the app.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect players, the service, or third parties; comply with law; or address a material violation of these Terms. You may stop using A-MAJ at any time.
A-MAJ may rely on providers such as Supabase, Render, Vercel, Cloudflare Turnstile, transactional email, Google (if you use Google sign-in), Apple (for App Store purchases when enabled), and Sentry (when crash reporting is configured). Their terms and privacy practices may apply to their services.
To the extent permitted by law, A-MAJ is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, Jair Ortega and our service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from A-MAJ. Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
We may update the service or these Terms. We will post the revised Terms and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide any notice required by law. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, subject to mandatory consumer law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, subject to mandatory consumer protections where you live. Exclusive venue for disputes that may be brought in court is the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, except where prohibited by mandatory consumer law.
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the service, subject to applicable law.
